Who we are

MD FINISHING LIMITED (“MD Finishing”, “we”) is the controller of the personal information described here. We’re registered in England and Wales with company number 14765549. What we collect

• What you tell us in the quote form: your name, postcode, phone number and/or email address, company or project name, and a description of the work.
• Photos you choose to send. We remove location and camera data from photos when we receive them.
• Messages and call details if you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email.
• Anonymous statistics about how the website is used (see “Statistics” below).

To protect the quote form from spam and abuse, we also briefly use technical information such as your IP address. It’s kept in memory for about 10 minutes and isn’t stored with your enquiry.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote. When you ask us for a quote, using your details is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
• Business contacts. If you contact us on behalf of a company, we use your work contact details in our legitimate interests of responding to and working with your organisation (Article 6(1)(f)).
• Carrying out work and keeping records. If you become a customer, we use your details to deliver the work, invoice you and keep the records the law requires.

We don’t use your enquiry to send you marketing, and we don’t sell or share your information with anyone for their own marketing.

Who sees it

Only MD Finishing and the service providers we use to run the website and our email: our website hosting provider, the service that delivers form emails, and our email provider. If you message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also handled by WhatsApp (Meta). Where a provider stores data outside the UK, we make sure an approved safeguard is in place, such as the UK–US data bridge or approved contract terms.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that don’t lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Photos sent with an enquiry: up to 12 months, unless they become part of a job record.
• Customer and invoice records: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and accounting.

We will only show your photos or details on our website, as a project example, if you give us separate permission.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests. To do any of these, email enquiries@mdfinishing.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first at enquiries@mdfinishing.co.uk and we’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t embed third-party maps, videos or social media widgets. Your browser may store small settings, such as whether you’ve switched statistics off.

Statistics

We use privacy-friendly website statistics to see which pages are useful and to improve the site. They count visits in aggregate without cookies, and we can’t identify you from them. You can switch them off for this browser at any time:
